Site planning is a critical stage that focuses on translating broad objectives into plans that meet functional and value-based objectives. A site plan is needed before more detailed landscape plans can be prepared. It is the result of an investigative process looking at the opportunities and challenges of the site to determine the appropriate balance of user requirements and the.natural qualities of the site. We engage stakeholders, through a consensus-based process as needed. We always generate and evaluate options, often in collaboration with our clients and stakeholders.
In the parks and recreation field, we have worked on parks and trail systems that are large and small, urban and naturalized, very active and more tranquil. We believe in the development of landscapes that will endure the passage of time, and in parks that reflect the biophysical site characteristics and cultural heritage, where appropriate. Many of our recent parks have naturalization and stormwater management components. Through planning and designing numerous sports facilities, we appreciate the needs of users and the importance of involving them in the design process.
Working with camps and camping communities is a heart-warming experience. Through our work with the YMCA in two provinces, and private camps, we have developed expertise in planning and designing camps.
