Cascade Heritage Power Park Project - Recreation and Tourism Assessment

The client had submitted a Project Approval Application to the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) to build a hydroelectric generating facility and associated museum and public park on the Kettle River near Christina Lake, B.C. In response to public concerns and at the EAO’s request, CBA conducted a recreation and tourism assessment of the proposed project. The report included: description of existing recreation and tourism resources and activities; identification of positive and negative potential effects of the proposed power plant, park, and related infrastructure; identification of optional mitigation measures; and a visualization of the proposed weir.
