The Blackie Spit Park Master Plan of 1999, prepared by CBA, provided a long-term plan for this important ocean-front park. Since that time, significant upgrades were completed in the park, and additional land was acquired by the City of Surrey. This project involved preparation of a concept plan for the cul-de-sac area at the entrance to Blackie Spit Park. Consultation was held with stakeholders and the public. The preferred plan is one that retains green space, enhances trail connections, adds native plantings and “beach” gardens, and provides a sense of entry, viewpoints, seating, nature play, an outdoor shower, and a major gathering space.
